I’m on Amazon!

After so long, it is very strange to see my novel up on Amazon!

I have already sold copies which is amazing.

I’ve called this a “soft launch”. This is because here, in New Zealand, we are suffering from our ever worst natural disaster.  120+ people have died in the earthquake in Christchurch and 200 more are still trapped. It is inappropriate for me to mention my book right now while many of my family, friends and workmates are in the disaster zone or working on rescue efforts. New Zealand is a tight knit community and we are bonded even more now. Helping and providing support is our priority and is much more important.

Meanwhile, when I have time, I am working on the Kindle version. I will upload my u-tube book trailer and update my internet site. This is all in preparation for my official book release day. Press release goes out to 1000 places around the 10th – 13th of March.

It has to be a BIG BANG LAUNCH!  It has to make noise.

I’m finding it a little challenging to go from writing full time to marketing, sales and promotion! It’s just not my cup of tea!  It’s a whole other world. I have interviews set up. The whole journey is kind of fun … I think.  At the end of the day, I’m a writer, not a salesperson!  gack!

Oh yes, I knew “launch” day would come… I have to work harder than ever. First rule of publishing is you can’t sit back and expect miracles. You have to make them happen.

I have a dream! 2012 The Final Revelation will be a no 1 best seller. Watch me…

Love Lisa  xx

My novel…

It’s been a really busy few weeks, hence no blog.  I have dusted off my marketing plan and have been working through everything I need to do for pre / post launch.

I’ve completed my u-tube trailer (looks fantastic!!), prepared comms and been out talking to people.

Latest news is 2012 The Final Revelation will be up on Amazon any day now. Then I will convert to Kindle, upload my book trailer onto u-tube. Then update the www.lisaflaus.com site with all the links and update everything out there including Linkedin, twitter and facebook.

Press release goes out to 1000 places around the 10th of March in order for me to prepare all of the material.

Then BIG BANG LAUNCH – Bells and whistles and streamers will fly everywhere ;-).

I need to make noise and then keep it maintained.

I always knew I would get to this stage one day. For nearly 6 years I focused on research and writing, now I’m spending as much time as I can in preparation for release. It’s very important to “make noise” and get the book noticed.

I won’t make the mistake of launching and sitting back, watching and waiting for some miracle to occur. 100’s of new books are published every day. Naturally, every author wants their book to be a best seller. It just doesn’t magically happen. It not only needs to be a great story, it needs to be pushed and noticed by the right people…

Right, back to work Lisa 🙂

To hold your novel…

The courier arrived at 5pm. I signed for the package then sat and stared at the box for 2 hours…

I needed to get into the “zone”. I wanted to remember the 6 years I had spent writing this 120,000 word novel – when the first idea came to me (remind me to tell you about that moment one day cause it’s a cool story! LOL), the formation and structure of the novel and the countless hours of research time 😉 I pondered all the late nights, tired days, weekend work, writers block, worry, reviews and edits.

I thought about what I have been saying to my friends and family for SO many years, “I have a dream. I want to pick up my own novel in my hand.”

With a deep breath I opened the box and held the book. Okay so I cried a little because that moment you live your dream, it’s heartwrenching and so rewarding. My soul is in this book. I’m not the best writer in the world but I think the story is what makes it. I made it as unique as possible. My characters are my own creation. Sometimes they feel so real. They are my best friends now, I know every inch of them. I sat them beside me when I opened it because this is their story and they have been with me the whole time, nagging me to finish it.

I think they cried too 😉

WOW! It is the best looking book I’ve ever seen. Okay, so I’m a little biased! It’s thick and heavy, the font is perfect and the cover looks amazing!

I have a week or so before “launch”. But I can actually say now, I have lived my dream.

Well, phase one… 😉 I’ll tell you what phase two is next time xxx
